ヴヴェイはインターナショナル。Vevey is the international town!

Vevey is a small town, but it is a real small world. Bambina studies French at "Virgile". There are 7 students in her class, and all of them are from different countries: Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil, Iraq, and Hungary. Moreover, the teacher is Spanish, he has been living in Switzerland for 40 years. Anyway, her French is getting better compared to January, when we moved to Switzerland.
Why does Vevey carry so many people from all over the world? You can see the answer on Kit-Kat. Yes, the famous chocolate product. Do you see a little logo of birds? If you look closer, you will see the name of VEVEY!!! Did you get it? Yes, Vevey is the town where the World-Wide food company "Nestlé" headquarter is.
　ヴヴェイの人口は約15,600人ほどの小さな街なのですが、とてもインターナショナルな街でもあります。Bambinaはこの街にある"Virgile"という学校でフランス語を習っています。このクラスには現在、７人の生徒がいるのですが、それぞれ出身国が違います。日本、タイ、ベトナム、メキシコ、ブラジル、イラク、ハンガリーのクラスメイトに、スペイン人の先生。ちなみに、この先生は７歳からスイスで暮らしているので、フランス語はネイティブ、ドイツ語・英語・イタリア語もこなします。この先生のお陰でBambinaのフランス語は随分と上達しています。
　さて、どうしてヴヴェイがインターナショナルなのでしょうか？その答えはチョコ（それ以外にもコーヒーでもいいんですが。）にあります。裏にある、鳥の巣の絵を見てください。小さくVEVEYと書いてあるでしょ？そうなんです、ここにはあのネスレ〜のヘッドクオーター（世界中のネスレ本社っていうのかな？）があるんです。
　ローザンヌから列車でヴヴェイに入ると向かって右側の湖畔に大きなガラス張りの建物を見ることができます。Bambinaは中に入って見学してきました。（建物の中に入るには許可が必要ですので、注意してください。）とってもモダンで（だけど、建物は１９５０年代の設計なんですって…）、世界のネスレを感じられるオフィスでした。ちなみに、そのネスレ財団が運営している食べ物博物館ーアリマンタリウムなるものもヴヴェイにはあります。ぜひ、観光の際に立ち寄ってみてはいかがでしょう？
